The Prepare-Enrich relationship questionnaires and counselor-training materials were first created in 1980 by Dr. David Olson, PhD, a licensed psychologist who currently serves as Professor Emeritus of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota. Enrich Canada has been offering these tools nationwide since 1986.
The tests continue to be updated with new and ongoing research. Today, more than 3 million couples have completed a Prepare-Enrich assessment inventory, more than 8,000 trained Prepare-Enrich facilitators in Canada, and thousands of professionals worldwide have adopted the Prepare-Enrich program into their counseling methods.
All Prepare-Enrich tools are designed for couples at any age and stage of their relationship. This includes: dating, cohabitating, premarital, and married couples. The program helps identify a couple’s strengths and weaknesses, major sources of stress, and develops their communication and conflict-resolution skills.
“Let me also share with you folks that I wish this program was a mandatory requirement for pre-marital couples in every church. I am doing all I can to encourage the churches in our area to make this material a part of their pre-marital and marriage enrichment program. Thanks again for this material and for your efforts in helping us as pastors and churches to ensure the longevity of families and homes of our nation. Keep up the good work”.
“I am so glad you’ve come out with something to address the situation of cohabiting couples. Virtually all the couples who approach me for weddings are cohabiting”.
“I have just finished the self-training and I am thrilled to see how helpful the program will be. PREPARE/ENRICH will help me be much more effective and relevant to the couples I will counsel”.
“Thanks so much for all your help in helping me to prepare couples for marriage. I think the PREPARE/ENRICH tool is best for assisting couples in their preparation for married life”.
